Torrential rains with significant falls of hail were recorded, on Sunday, in several areas of the country, images of nature’s fury being distributed on social networks. People also posted pictures of what was left behind, devastated gardens and orchards.
Meteorologists issued several warnings of heavy rainfall, rain and strong winds during the day.
Images appeared on Facebook from Ţebea, Hunedoara county, but also from Şiria, in Arad county, where a layer of hail quickly formed in people’s yards, and the rain is falling furiously.
Other images were captured in Galda de Jos, in Alba county.
Devastating images of the devastation wrought by large hail in gardens and orchards have also been posted.
The hailstorm lasted for about an hour, leaving behind heavily damaged vegetation.
Images from the west of the country show how big the hail was that hit.
And on Valea Dâmboviței, the rain fell torrentially, in large quantities, accompanied by hail.
In Pietrari, Dâmbovița, the storm left behind large amounts of hail, collected in piles in people’s yards.
Three cars, taken by the flood
In the town of Vâlcăneşti, Prahova county, the water level of the Sărata stream rose on Sunday evening, following a torrential rain, a strong flood forming in the town of Vâlcăneşti in Prahova county.
According to the representatives of ISU Prahova, the flood took three cars that were carried by the waters to a distance of approximately one kilometer. Two of the cars were abandoned, the third being functional.
As a result of the flood, no victims were reported in the town.
At the time of this news, the water level of the stream is still high, and the area is being monitored.
Warnings of extreme weather phenomena
Several counties are, on Sunday evening, under weather warnings of dangerous phenomena, for some areas yellow code warnings have been issued, while others are under orange meteorological code warnings. In Prahova County, residents of several towns and municipalities received RO-Alert messages advising them to take shelter.
