PHOTO Urbanism of Cluj, in four images from Easter Sunday, at the churches of Cluj: The Cathedral, the Monastery with gardens, the neighborhood church and the ground floor of the block of real estate extensions

Within walking distance, between the old blocks of Gheorgheni or Grigorescu, in the center, at the Cathedral, on the outskirts of the city, in the monastery gardens or on the ground floor of a block in the city extensions – the service on Easter Sunday looks just as diverse on as far as Cluj urban planning allows.

In the Gheorgheni neighborhood, the believers in the area sit in the shade on the sidewalk or have entered the church – here you have a market across the street, shops, a pharmacy, even a flower shop and a bus stop a few minutes from the church.

Somewhere at the intersection between Gheorgeni, Bună Ziua and Borhanci, once located on the outskirts of the city, the Greek-Catholic monastery has remained a green oasis at the gate of a real estate extension of Cluj that has no public park. The nuns leave the gates open during the day and the convent’s neighbors sometimes come for walks in the neighborhood that has been populated by dozens of blocks in recent years.

In the new real estate extensions of Cluj, a new area has appeared – with sidewalks and even large green spaces. If you live here you have to come by car. There is no bus stop close at hand, no public kindergartens and the shops are a bit further. But, a great novelty for the recent neighborhoods of Cluj – you have a park. The church was installed close to the apartments.

On Easter Sunday. “Christ is Risen” is sung on the ground floor of the block:
