An ambulance caught fire on Easter night, May 4, around 11:30 p.m., in the town of Berghia, Mureș county. In the ambulance, there was a patient who was intubated. This has been saved.

“Around 11:30 p.m., the Mures firefighters were requested to intervene in a fire in the engine compartment of a truck transporting victims, on DJ 152A between Band and Berghia. The Târgu Mureș Fire Department intervened with two emergency and extinguishing trucks with water and foam,” ISU Mureș reported.

The ambulance was transporting an almost 80-year-old patient to the hospital, who needed oxygen and was intubated. The ambulance driver noticed sparks coming from under the car and stopped immediately. The woman and the equipment in the ambulance were saved before the fire spread.
The patient was evacuated
“When the intervention forces arrived at the scene of the request, the patient in the ambulance was evacuated safely, later being picked up by a SAJ ambulance and transported to UPU Târgu Mureș. The fire was extinguished within the limits found, no casualties were recorded during the extinguishing action”, stated ISU Mureș.
