A child from Corlata arrived at UPU Suceava with burns after throwing a container of gasoline into the fire in the garden

An 8-year-old child from Corlata arrived at UPU Suceava with burns on Saturday.

According to the checks carried out by the police, it was established that on Saturday, around 12:00, while the child was at home, he went to the garden behind the house with a plastic container of gasoline on him, which he threw over the fire that was still burning a lot of waste resulting from household cleaning activities.

At one point, the said container with flammable liquid exploded, at which point the child’s T-shirt caught fire, thus suffering burns on his body.

The child’s mother heard the boy’s screams from the house, came out quickly and put out the fire, after which she transported him in her personal car to UPU Suceava.

The child was transported to a hospital unit in Iași in order to provide specialized medical care, as he suffered second and third degree burns on 20% of his body surface.

In this, a criminal file was drawn up regarding the commission of the crime of culpable bodily harm, and the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Suceava will also be informed.
