A tragedy occurred on a road in Argeș on Thursday afternoon. Two teenagers, aged 19 and 16, died on the spot after the car they were in knocked down an electric pole and then overturned in a ditch.
There were a total of 4 young people in the car. The driver only got his driver’s license on April 9, according to argespress.ro. The accident took place on Thursday, on DN 65A, in the town of Căldăraru, Argeș county. In the car driven by a 19-year-old man, there were 3 other teenagers, cousins of the driver. The driver entered a curve at speed, could not right the car, which knocked down an electric pole, after which it overturned in the ditch on the side of the road.
The driver and a rear passenger died on the spot
Following the call to 112, 5 fire crews and doctors arrived urgently at the scene of the tragedy. “4 victims, all male, were identified at the scene. Two were evaluated by the medical crews and did not need transport to the hospital, and for the other two, unfortunately, nothing could be done, being declared dead. The latter were evacuated from the car by the firemen,” ISU Argeș representatives say.
The driver and a rear passenger died on the spot. The other two young men, brothers, escaped with only a few scratches. The driver, writes the cited source, only got his driver’s license on April 9, 2024.
