The Holy Light from Jerusalem, brought to the country by a delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate, arrived in Cluj-Napoca again this year, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, around 8:45 p.m., at the “Avram Iancu” International Airport in the municipality, where was greeted by His Holiness Father Archbishop and Metropolitan Andrei. The hierarch distributed the Holy Light to the delegations from the nine dioceses of the Diocese, as well as to all those present.
The Holy Light will be offered to the faithful at the Resurrection Service, starting at 00:00, at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca, as well as at parishes throughout the Archdiocese.
The Holy Light descended on Saturday, May 4, at 2:13 p.m., at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. The ceremony was presided over by His Beatitude Father Theophilus III, Patriarch of Jerusalem.
The tradition of bringing the Holy Light from Jerusalem was instituted by Patriarch Daniel in 2009, since then it has been brought annually to all parishes in Romania.
The event of the reception of the Holy Light can be watched on the official website of Trinitas TV, the television of the Romanian Patriarchate.
The aircraft with the delegation that brought the Holy Light to Romania landed at Otopeni International Airport around 18:30.
