The students from Alba who participated in the national stage of the Geography Olympiad achieved excellent results, the County School Inspectorate announced. One student got the 3rd prize and there were four special prizes and one mention.

The 2024 National Geography Olympiad took place between April 25 and 30, in Constanța.

The batch of Alba County, made up of 9 students, was accompanied by teacher Costea Leontin from the High School “Horea, Cloșca and Crișan” Abrud.

Following the results, three students from Alba took the barrage test in order to qualify for the groups participating in the International Geography Olympiad.

• Mention: Mihai Paul Toader – 9th grade – High School “Horea, Cloșca and Crișan” Abrud, Prof. Leontin Costea
• Special Award: Carina Costea – 8th grade – “Vasile Goldiș” Secondary School Alba Iulia, Prof. Floare Lăncrănjan
• Special Award: Luca Ioan Boca – 9th grade – “Lucian Blaga” Sebeș National College – Prof. Vasile Ștef
• Special Award: Ștefania Gaiță – 12th grade – National College “Avram Iancu” Câmpeni, Prof. Anda Filip
• Special Award: David Marius Moldovan – 10th grade – “Lucian Blaga” Sebeș National College – Prof. Vasile Ștef

Students Mihai Paul Toader, Carina Costea, Ioan Martini took part in the barrage test in order to qualify for the groups participating in the International Geography Olympiad.
