Fiera: “I am absolutely not destabilized by opinion polls”

The PSD candidate for PMB Gabriela Firea said that she is not destabilized by the polls that give Nicuşor Dan the favorite in the competition for the Capital City Hall, because it is based on the votes of the citizens of Bucharest who are dissatisfied with the current city councilor, as well as those of the citizens of Bucharest who have given him their trust in the elections almost four years ago.

“I saw, there are a lot of opinion polls, they don’t destabilize me at all. I will honestly tell you why. Because I rely primarily on the citizens of Bucharest who voted for me almost four years ago, 250,000 citizens of Bucharest, and I lost by a small margin at the level of the Capital to Mr. Dan.

My calculation is as simple as possible, I rely on Bucharest residents. If everyone who voted for me last time, even though I was the target of a furious online campaign, which I couldn’t handle because I’m honestly not good at that kind of thing, we thought that if I presented the big infrastructure projects, the investments in transport, in education will be enough, here it was not enough.

And of those who voted for the current mayor, the polls say more than 70%, I’m lenient, I say 50%, come on, not half, 30% are dissatisfied because they can’t be satisfied with the last years in which they didn’t made investments, the city looks bad for the most part, it’s a mess, there are potholes, you can’t go to the parks”, explained Gabriela Firea, on Thursday at the B1Tv channel.

She criticized Nicuşor Dan because, in addition to large investments, the current mayor would not have taken care of smaller projects, such as parks.

“The mayor said the parks look good. I was in Herastrau, the banks are falling, danger for children, danger for adults. All cracked driveways, weeds everywhere. You can not!

Let’s say that big projects take time because you need big funding and you need bidding procedures that last 2 years and I left such projects, but if not these small things, to make these parks oases of beauty for the citizens, take care of safety in schools, that there are no more people selling drugs to students everywhere, that you don’t leave whole craters on the big boulevards”, concluded Firea.
