Mayor Allen Coliban returned to seniors the facilities for public transportation cynically taken away by the previous administration

Under the mandate of the current administration, the public transport facilities taken away almost ten years ago by the former administration were returned to the elderly.

The following facilities are now in force, which every Braşov senior must know about:

– Pensioners who have reached the age of 60 and have an income of a maximum of 3,500 lei travel free of charge on public transport in the municipality of Brașov;

– Veterans and war widows, revolutionaries and veterans from theaters of operations benefit from the same gratuity;

– Seniors residing in the municipality of Brașov, who have reached the age of 60 and with incomes over 3,500 lei, benefit from a monthly discount of 50% compared to the nominal value of the trip price (respectively 2 lei instead of 4 lei) . The measure is also valid for the monthly subscription (40 lei instead of 80 lei).

“But from the heart for seniors” on the occasion of the big holidays

On the occasion of the Christmas and Easter holidays, the Directorate of Social Assistance runs the campaign “A gift from the heart for seniors”, in which the municipality offers vouchers worth 200 lei to the elderly from Brasov.

Flavia Boghiu, the deputy mayor of Brașov: “But from the heart is the campaign through which we offer value vouchers to Brasov seniors with limited financial possibilities. It is intended to bring a little help and more serene days to the grandparents of Brașov, on the occasion of the great Christian holidays”.

This financial support benefits people who meet, cumulatively, the following conditions: they have a stable residence in the municipality of Brașov, they have incomes of up to 2000 lei/month, they are at least 63 years old for women or at least 65 years old for men and they have no debts towards the budget local.
