The executive is to approve, in today’s meeting, an agreement with the Government of Ukraine regarding the construction of the border road bridge over the Tisa river, on the border between the two states, in the area of Sighetu Marmaţiei – Bila Tserkva localities.
According to a press release sent, on Monday, by the Government, several draft decisions are on the agenda of the meeting, including the one for the approval of the aforementioned agreement, signed in Kyiv on October 18, 2023.
The construction is completed in a proportion of 37% and includes two parallel bridges, with two lanes in each direction, 5 unloading bridges, 2 administrative buildings, sidewalks, resistance and foundation part of the control and scanning halls. Access to the border point will be through the roundabout that will be made at the zero point of the bridge. “
The new bridge over the Tisza includes all the infrastructure of a border point. The entire location of the bridge over the Tisza is 1.2 kilometers long and includes: access to the border point, customs office, facilities and equipment necessary for carrying out commercial traffic through this point. Currently, at the border of Romania with Ukraine in Sighetu Marmaţiei, only the transit of people takes place on the historic wooden bridge, which over time required safety works, as the resistance elements of the bridge were affected.
