Group specialized in robbing “easy boxes”, broken up by Timisoara policemen

The police officers of the Timiș Criminal Investigation Service, under the coordination of the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Timișoara District Court, destroyed a group specialized in the theft of parcels from the lockers of some courier companies. Three men were arrested.

“On April 24, 2024, the basis of the information and research carried out by the police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service within IPJ Timiș regarding a criminal group specialized in committing the crime of aggravated theft in the damage of several lockers belonging to courier companies, located on the range of Timiș county and neighboring counties, an action was organized to catch some people in the act, there being information that they are going to steal, through burglary, 11 mobile phones from the locker located on Parâng street in Timișoara.

Following surveillance activities, around 10:40 p.m., the police caught a 35-year-old man red-handed (the leader of the group) while he and two other people were stealing parcels from a locker on Parâng Street. The other two people involved managed to escape.

On the same date, the 35-year-old man was detained for 24 hours, under the aspect of committing the crime of qualified theft, later the magistrates ordered preventive arrest for 30 days, he was placed in the Center for Detention and Preventive Arrest within IPJ Timiș .

“In the continuation of the investigations to find the other people involved, on April 27, 2024, the police officers of the Timiș Criminal Investigation Service found a 31-year-old man in Alba County and another in Lovrin, Timiș County. aged 34, both suspected of committing the acts. The two were detained for 24 hours for committing the crime of aggravated theft, and on April 28, 2024, the magistrates ordered the measure of preventive arrest for 30 days, being placed in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center within IPJ Timiș”. says the police statement.
