The PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall, Gabriela Firea, submitted, on Sunday, her candidacy for the position of general mayor at the Electoral District Office of the Municipality of Bucharest.
Gabriela Firea: “I have now applied for a new mandate at the Capital City Hall. (…) Thanks to everyone, we also managed to collect signatures and mobilize. You have in front of you the people who transform Bucharest for the better, who can make a difference, who will put an end to inefficiency, slowness and everything that happened, unfortunately, not very well in the last years in Bucharest, because there was no development and where the projects started, the pace was a snail’s pace. What do we propose? A dynamic administration, an efficient administration, based on collaboration with the ministries, with the Government, with all colleagues from the sectors, regardless of political color.”
She also claimed that almost four years were lost for Bucharest.
Gabriela Firea thanked Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, present at the candidacy submission, for all the support during this period.
Gabriela Firea came to the Constituency Electoral Office of the Municipality of Bucharest accompanied by PSD president, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, PSD general secretary, Paul Stănescu, PSD first vice-president Sorin Grindeanu, the mayors of Sectors 3 and 4, Robert Negoiţă and Daniel Băluţă, MEP Mihai Tudose, other PSD representatives.
On Saturday, Sebastian Burduja also went to the Municipal Electoral Office (BEM) to submit his candidacy for the position of general mayor of the Capital.
The liberal showed up at the BEM headquarters on a motorcycle, where he was awaited by the PNL leader, Nicolae Ciucă, and dozens of party members.
Sebastian Burduja: “I have a plan for Bucharest, I presented it for a long time. I have a team, unlike others, I am not alone in this fight and I will not be alone in the general mayor’s office, overwhelmed by stacks of papers. I have a lot of energy and a lot of desire to leave something behind.”
He directly challenged the current mayor of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, to a debate in which to discuss solutions for the Capital.
At the beginning of this week, the PSD-PNL coalition abandoned the candidate Cătălin Cîrstoiu. After a meeting that lasted over 15 hours, the two parties chose to go with separate candidates for the post of General Mayor of the Capital.
So, at this moment, the list of candidates for the Capital City Hall is:
- Nicușor Dan – Independent candidate,
- Cristian Popescu Piedone – PUSL candidate,
- Sebastian Burduja – PNL candidate,
- Gabriela Firea – PSD candidate.
