Since the beginning of April, 27 earthquakes have been recorded in Romania, with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.5 on the Richter scale. PHOTO: Shutterstock

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred on Friday morning, at 2:05 local time, in Buzău County, Vrancea seismic zone, according to information published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 141.9 kilometers, near the following cities: 55 km west of Focsani, 59 km southeast of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 61 km northwest of Buzău, 68 km east of Braşov, 84 km north – east of Ploiesti.

Since the beginning of April, 27 earthquakes have been recorded in Romania, with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.5 on the Richter scale.

Last year, the largest tectonic movement, with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, took place on February 14, in Gorj County, at a depth of 6.3 kilometers.
