The people of Cluj have become much more aware of what is happening around them and deserve more transparency from the City Hall, said George Trif (USR), candidate of the United Right Alliance for the Cluj-Napoca City Council, for monitorulcj.ro.

The people of Cluj are more aware of what is happening around them and are more attentive to how things evolve, explained USR Cluj’s local councilor, George Trif. He specified that in his mandate he will support the implementation of the project management application, because the citizens need more transparency from Cluj-Napoca City Hall.

“In my mandate, I will support the implementation of the project management application. We have already tried to convince Cluj-Napoca City Hall that it is needed. In recent years he managed to put it under the drawer and pretend that everything is going well. We need to speed up the implementation of the project management application, so that the City Hall has transparency towards the citizens regarding how the city’s projects are progressing and how they are implemented. The current transparency of the Cluj-Napoca City Hall rather concerns the legal aspects. There is as much time as the law requires, but it is clear that the city and its citizens deserve more. The people of Cluj have become much more aware of what is happening around them and are much more attentive to the way things evolve”, declared George Trif.

“The people of Cluj no longer want to see construction sites that are not completed”

The transparency of local administration activities is essential for a balanced life in the city.

“Certainly we want to do much more for transparency, because it is essential for a balanced life in the city. Citizens are not satisfied with the slow pace at which projects are implemented and are tired of seeing only construction sites that are not completed. There is certainly a need for more transparency and it can be done even beyond what the law provides if you want,” George Trif (USR) also declared.

Local elections on 9 June 2024

This year’s local elections will take place on June 9, 2024. They were merged with the European Parliament elections.

George Trif is in charge of the public policy department of USR Cluj. He has a master’s degree in law from the University of Debrecen and is a SAM (Software Asset Management) consultant, being responsible for the development and implementation of best practices for managing software licenses and associated financial resources.
