The third day of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair in Cluj-Napoca Culture

The third day of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair is taking place in Piaţa Unirii in Cluj-Napoca, until 20:00. A large audience gathered for the launch of the volume “Jurnale elveţiene” by the critic and literary historian Ioana Bot, the honorary president of the fair.

Doina Borgovan from România România Cluj has details: “The honorary president of Gaudeamus is the renowned teacher from Cluj Letters, Ioana Bot. In the opening of the fair, she made an emotional plea for reading and for readers, and today she launched a volume of her memoirs. It is a diary written while he was studying in Switzerland, in 1994.

Ioana Bot: “I wrote it for friends, to a great extent, and some of the friends I wrote to then ended up sending their own children to Zürich, to study, after 20 years, when they grew up and me it seemed to me that the stars were aligned. I was very pleasantly surprised that it became an appreciated book, that it had some very enthusiastic reviews.”

The book does not idealize the West and makes a comparison between Romania in the 90s and the West from that period, thus becoming an opportunity for the contemporary reader to reflect on the changes that have taken place in our country in the last 30 years.”/editor Florin Lepadatu /
