The critical situation in the city of Slănic Prahova, where, on Thursday morning, part of the 23 August street collapsed, right in front of the Police headquarters. Specialists say that the salt deposit on which the entire town is located is to blame.
The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations is taking the first measures right now.
They are scary images, as the locals said, who woke up in the morning with the main road broken. At this time, that area has been restricted to both pedestrian and road access.
Mayor Costea Daneluș says that he has already verbally notified ISU Prahova and the Prefect’s Institution, and will also send written addresses about the land collapse that took place on Thursday morning.

“The area has a particularity in that, as we all know, there is the salt mine from Slănic, both the tourist one and the exploitation one. From my point of view, all legal steps will be taken, namely the Local Committee for Emergency Situations is currently convened, it will determine, of course, with the specialists in the field, what is the reason for this surprise, what is the danger, and depending on their findings, I will have to convene in turn, if necessary, the County Committee for Emergency Situations, we’ll see if an evacuation will be required,” Emil Drăghicescu, Prefect of Prahova County, said live on Antena 3 CNN.
