A NATO rapid troop deployment exercise took place between April 15-24 in Slovenia, Hungary and Romania, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced on Thursday.

“The Italian Rapid Deployment Corps (NRDC-ITA) carried out, between April 15-24, the exercise Eagle Overland 24 (EAOV24), with the aim of testing border crossing procedures with military vehicles in Slovenia, Hungary and Romania, as well as to check the communication and IT systems”, MApN said in a press release.

The conduct of the exercise on the territory of Romania was supported by the Multinational Command of the Southeast Division and the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU).

“EAOV24 represented an important step forward in terms of interoperability, both in the planning and execution phases. This exercise was a new example of the collaboration between the allies in the context of the simultaneous activities carried out by NATO in the region”, says the Ministry of Defense.
