In a major event that brought together national and international medical professionals, Siemens Healthineers announced the first installation of MAGNETOM Flow in Romania, an innovative magnetic resonance (MRI) technology designed to improve diagnostic capabilities and increase efficiency in patient care. The event organized by Siemens Healthineers Romania on April 24 was attended by outstanding national and international personalities from the medical, scientific and educational fields, according to a press release sent to the Editor.

This launch marks not only a historic moment for Romania, but also contributes directly to the positioning of our country on the map of innovation, technology and education. After the international launch in Vienna at the beginning of February, the installation of MAGNETOM Flow at the Dorna Medical Clinic, which is to open its doors in June of this year in Borşa, is proof of the pioneering undertaken by Siemens Healthineers Romania to implement this cutting-edge technology , for the first time, in our country.

MAGNETOM Flow brings a significant evolution in the field of medical imaging, offering a series of essential benefits for patients and healthcare professionals. With its innovative technology, this MRI system allows obtaining high-quality images with superior resolution and remarkable clarity, facilitating accurate diagnosis of various medical conditions. Its advanced imaging capabilities allow doctors to better identify and evaluate lesions and pathologies, thus leading to the choice of the most effective treatment strategies, personalized for each patient. In addition, MAGNETOM Flow is Siemens Healthineers’ first (T) 1.5 magnetic resonance imaging platform with a closed helium circuit, sealed for life, without a helium escape pipe, and which, in the event of helium loss, allows for automatic replenishment in operation without any intervention from the Siemens Healthineers service team.

The event on April 24, which marked a first for Romania, but also the anniversary of 40 years of MAGNETOM technology on the market, brought together professionals who debated the latest news in the field and the implications of such an innovative technology. The discussion panel was moderated by Dr. Claudia Oanea, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Romania, and his interlocutors were: Cristian Buşoi, President of ITRE, member of the European Parliament, Prof. Bogdan Pană, lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila”, Prof. Ioana Gheonea, President of the ESR Youth Committee (European Society of Radiology), Dr. Daniel David, Rector of “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Sonja Wehsely, Executive Vice President CEECA Siemens Healthineers, Ginny Wu, Global Product Manager (MRI) Siemens Healthineers, Dominik Pawlinker, Business Manager MR CEECA Siemens Healthineers and Florin Preoteasa, Business Development Manager MR CEECA.

One of the major advantages of MAGNETOM Flow is its ability to improve the patient experience during MRI scanning procedures. Thanks to its ergonomic design and advanced noise reduction and scan acceleration technologies, MAGNETOM Flow offers a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for patients. Reducing scanning time by up to 50% and eliminating the need to repeat procedures not only improves patient comfort, but also increases efficiency and productivity within medical units. In addition, MAGNETOM Flow stands out for its versatility, being able to be used for a wide range of medical applications, from brain and spine imaging to cardiac and oncology.

The installation of MAGNETOM Flow at the Dorna Medical Clinic in Borşa is the result of a successful collaboration between the public and private sectors. MAGNETOM Flow will be installed at the Dorna Medical Clinic, which will open in June of this year, so that the patients related to the geographical area, as well as those from the Borşa Hospital, will also benefit from this innovative technology. The collaboration not only brings state-of-the-art medical imaging closer to the community, but saves patients from traveling over 100 km to the first medical center for MRI scans. By expanding access to MAGNETOM Flow and Borşa Hospital, Siemens Healthineers ensures that patients in the region have easy access to advanced diagnostic capabilities, directly contributing to improving the quality of health services with positive patient outcomes.

Sonja Wehsely, Executive Vice President of CEECA Siemens Healthineers, said on the occasion of the event: “The introduction of one of the first MAGNETOM Flow systems in the world in Romania demonstrates our commitment to contribute to the improvement of the healthcare system through continuous innovation. This system is designed to be energy efficient by reducing the use of resources By investing in technologies like MAGNETOM Flow, we are not only advancing medical diagnostics, but also taking an essential step towards achieving our goal of raising the quality level of the healthcare system to the highest standards, while maintaining a sustainable approach .”

For her part, Claudia Oanea, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Romania, expressed her enthusiasm for the first installation of the MAGENTOM Flow platform in our country: “By introducing, for the first time in the world, this platform in a clinic in Romania, Dorna Medical , we reaffirm our commitment to revolutionize the medical industry in the country. The clinical and technical capabilities of the MAGNETOM Flow equipment support clinicians in establishing a precision diagnosis, leading to better treatment decisions and ultimately to improved patient care. “

MAGNETOM Flow is also designed to reduce resource consumption, such as helium, and energy consumption. Dry Cool technology together with improved energy saving features significantly reduce costs and energy consumption. In addition, the compact size and the absence of the exhaust pipe make the installation of the system easier and more economical in medical institutions, without requiring structural changes that can incur significant costs. This sustainable approach not only protects the environment, but also promotes a more environmentally friendly and responsible medical practice.

Florin Preoteasa, Business Development Manager MR CEECA, emphasizes the strategic significance of MAGNETOM Flow in stimulating growth and competitiveness in the health industry. “MAGNETOM Flow is a key “player” on the MRI market, offering unprecedented performance and profitability for medical service providers. Here, after 40 years of excellence in MAGNETOM imaging technology, we bring for the first time in our country the latest innovation offered by this range. We are confident that MAGNETOM Flow will strengthen our position as a leader in magnetic resonance imaging solutions, promoting sustainable growth and bringing tangible benefits to our customers.”

“The installation of the first MAGNETOM Flow in Borşa aligns with our mission to reach isolated communities, ensuring that advanced diagnostic tools are not just a privilege reserved for small groups. This technology will equip local healthcare providers with accurate and efficient capabilities of diagnosis, ultimately improving the care of patients in this area. The installation of this equipment at the Dorna Medical Clinic will significantly improve the diagnostic and treatment processes, with enormous benefits for the local community,” added Domink Pawnlinker, Business Manager MR CEECA Siemens Healthineers.

“We are proud to be the first medical center where MAGNETOM Flow will be installed, a technology that not only optimizes the scanning process, but redefines the way we offer medical assistance to patients by increasing their level of comfort during the procedure. The scanning capacity of this equipment is extraordinary and will allow us to offer a faster, but also more precise diagnosis, crucial aspects for effective treatment. The importance of the approach is even greater, considering that patients from the Borşa region travel over a 100 km radius for to benefit from scanning services. This achievement is not only an important step for us as a medical institution, but represents a firm commitment to the good and health of the community we serve,” said Dr. Roman Boca, Founder and General Manager of Dorna Medical.
