A motorcyclist died today, Sunday, May 5, 2024, on Faleza in Galati, after hitting a car that irregularly changed the direction of travel.
The accident occurred in front of the “Saints Cassian and German” Church, above Viva Park.
A driver traveling on lane 1 from the Port towards Cecere Bac tried to change the direction of travel without securing himself.

From lane 2, in the same direction, a 41-year-old motorcyclist was driving, who did not have time to avoid the impact.
The motorcyclist died. There was also a woman on the motorcycle who was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
“A car driven by a 25-year-old young man, from the municipality of Galaţi, while traveling on the mentioned street in traffic lane 1, heading from Portului street to Cloșca boulevard, after passing Viva Park and arrived in front of a church, performed the turning maneuver, at which time he collided with a motorcycle that was moving in the same direction on lane 2 and was driven by a 41-year-old man from the municipality of Galati” ,
stated the Galati Police.
It is incredible that on a Sunday, Easter, when the traffic is obviously much reduced, one can die in road accidents inside a municipality (Galați).
The Galaţi Police determined that the fault is the driver who wanted to turn 180 degrees directly from lane 1 (a clear sign of unconsciousness at the wheel), without signaling and moving to lane 2 first, but it would be interesting to know and if the motorcyclist was traveling at a legal speed.
