* From Iceland, to Cuca. Alexandra Gabriela Veber is 34 years old, from Cuca, Galati county, and is part of chef Orlando Zaharia’s team at “Chefs la cuțite”. Passionate about cooking, sensitive, emotional and involved, Alexandra has an amazing life story, marked by the lack of confidence in herself and the bullying she suffered as a child, until she arrived in Iceland. There she felt accepted. As she told, she was out of the country for nine years, six of which she worked in the kitchen. “Honestly, I live in the kitchen and I could stay there for any number of hours, give my best,” confessed the competitor. She discovered her passion for cooking in Sweden, where she left to join her husband. She did everything from washing dishes to cleaning, but she felt happy when she was left to clean and cut onions. She wanted to be employed as a cook and she got this chance in Iceland. After a year of employment, he was in the mood for a shift. She worked in the kitchen with her husband and each of them wanted to be the best, and this affected their relationship. The man decided he was no longer happy with her. After the breakup, the husband stayed in Iceland, in the mood for a shift, and Alexandra returned to the country. Currently, she helps a make-up artist in organizing events, but feels it is vital to get back into the kitchen. He received this chance from chef Orlando and happily donned the turquoise tunic of his team. We are keeping our fingers crossed for him and we want him to reach the competition as far as possible!
