Searches in Bucharest in a file regarding the establishment of an organized criminal group, human trafficking and rape Radio Bucharest FM – Radio Music Live Online

Police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service Sector 5 and DIICOT prosecutors implement 13 home search warrants, within the Bucharest municipality, in a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking and rape.

From the research carried out, it emerged that, starting in 2012 and until April 2024, an organized criminal group, made up of five suspects, was established and acted in the municipality of Bucharest, with the aim of committing the crime of human trafficking.

The Capital Police states that one of them, leader of the criminal group, exercising his authority as a spiritual master and yoga instructor, recruited eight victims, taking advantage of their state of obvious vulnerability (lacking family support, with little experience of life, without material means of subsistence) and under the pretext of a spiritual evolution, with the support of the other suspects, sexually exploited them, by forcing them to produce and broadcast pornographic materials, on various specialized platforms, for the material benefit of the criminal group.

The victims were sheltered by the suspects in the apartments they own, in the city of Bucharest, and they were also provided with the necessary logistics to carry out the video chat activity (furnished buildings and equipped with the necessary technical equipment).

Also, the members of the criminal group opened bank accounts, in the name of commercial companies or authorized natural persons, to collect the sums of money obtained by the injured persons, exercising, at the same time, a strict control of their video chat services, by creating a “group of work”, where they were obliged to announce the start/end time of the activity.

The investigations carried out also showed that, in the summer of 2019, the leader of the organized crime group, taking advantage of the impossibility of one of the victims to express her will, maintained a sexual relationship with her, subsequently causing her not to notify the judicial authorities.

The evidence administered in the case revealed that the suspects obtained approximately 1.4 million euros from their criminal activities.

The hearings will be held at the headquarters of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Central Structure.

Fighters from the Special Actions Service, policemen from Police Departments 17, 18, 19 and 24 and policemen from the Violent Criminal Groups Service of the Capital Police are participating in the action. Also, the activity benefited from the specialized support of the Special Operations Directorate within the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
