On Wednesday, during a press conference, PSD launched its list of candidates for the Oradea Local Council.

The list with which the PSD wants to win mandates in the Oradea City Council is opened by the local councilor Adrian Madar, the party’s candidate for mayor, together with the local elected officials now in office Liviu Sabău Popa and Florica Bungău, but also PESEDists with old states, such as the leader of the PSD pensioners’ organization, Pavel Mercea.
For the local elections in June, however, the Pesedists refreshed their list of candidates, betting on people with a career behind them, such as the former head of the Bihor County School Inspectorate, currently director of the Dacia High School, Alin Novac Iuhas (photo below)but also company directors, teachers or entrepreneurs.
Thus, the PSD offer also includes, in the order in which they were presented by Adrian Madar, candidates such as Adrian Vese (economic director, Igna Construct), Gheorghina Bîrlădeanu (teaching staff, Agora University), Horea Sebeşan (teaching staff, president of the youth organization PSD Oradea) and Şerban Todică (entrepreneur).
The social democrats are also counting on Lucian Fetea (director of Lava Textiles), Sergiu Sasca (entrepreneur), Daniela Sopota (teacher, Eminescu National College) and Cristian Tăutu (entrepreneur) in the summer elections.
The order of the candidates on the list, on which the winning of a mandate depends on the votes attracted by the PSD from Oradea voters, is to be established during this week. “There is an internal stage in which we will validate this list, even if not necessarily in today’s order,” explained Madar.
They want the best score
The PSD-ists hope that their list of candidates will attract the largest number of votes so far in the elections for the City Hall and the Oradea Local Council, given that they were defeated in the 2020 elections.
“I am convinced that I will have the best score obtained by PSD Oradea after the Revolution”, Adrian Madar appreciated (photo below).
Comparing with the PSD’s previous performances, this would mean a percentage of over 20% of the votes cast, which would attract at least 6 mandates in the Oradea City Council, double the number of those now.
Despite the extremely ambitious goal, Madar is optimistic. “In Oradea, the peasants ruled over time, then the communists, then the PD-ists, and now we have a liberal leadership. I think that at this moment it is time for the social-democratic alternative”, declared the social-democrat.
PSD relies on a speech focused on reducing prices and “care for the citizen”. “We aim for the city to offer citizens a better life by reducing the cost of living. In addition, we will be a transparent administration and will expose all contracts (no – Oradea City Hall), so that the people of Oradea know what their money is being spent on,” said Madar.
It is worth mentioning that, starting with the first mandate of the former mayor Ilie Bolojan, the municipality of Oradea publishes all the purchases made on its own portal.
