The Voronet Monastery became known all over the world because of its special blue color. The place of worship is called by specialists the Sistine Chapel of the East.

We are talking about a hundreds of years old masterpiece, founded by the ruler Ștefan cel Mare.

Its architecture is representative of the Moldavian style, being a synthesis of features of Byzantine origin with elements belonging to late Gothic.

The Putna monastery is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. According to the old Moldavian chronicles, the construction of the monastery, founded by Stephen the Great, whose tomb is located there, began in 1466.

The consecration service was officiated by Metropolitan Teoctist. He was buried in the vestibule of the monastery. The place has a rich museum with embroideries, manuscripts, cult objects and icons.
