Consultation on the establishment of a branch of the Polytechnic University in Alexandria

The meeting hall of the Administrative Palace in Alexandria hosted, on Wednesday, the consultation organized in order to establish a branch of the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest in the county seat.

The meeting was attended by the president of the County Council Adrian Gâdea and the mayors of the municipalities and cities in the county, Liviu Gabriel Muşat, the director of the South-Muntenia Regional Development Agency (ADR), as well as Mihnea Costoiu, the rector of the National Polytechnic University of Sciences and Technology Bucharest, but also representatives of the business environment.

During the meeting, the general director of ADR Sud-Muntenia presented the financial opportunities available through the Regional Program Sud-Muntenia 2021-2027, which could support such an initiative, thus presenting more information about the European funds available for: capitalizing on the advantages of digitization , for the benefit of citizens, research organizations and public authorities, by investing in the development of relevant and necessary IT infrastructure, services and equipment; developing and enhancing research and innovation capabilities and adopting advanced technologies.

“Today a particularly important meeting was organized for the cultural and educational environment of Teleorman. The event brought together representatives of local authorities, academia and civil society to discuss the opportunity to establish a branch of the Polytechnic University in this region.

This could open new perspectives for education, research and development, giving young people in the area more options for higher education and professional development without having to go to other cities. The participants expressed their enthusiasm for this initiative and showed their willingness to collaborate to make this project a reality,” Adrian Gâdea, president of the Teleorman County Council, said.
