Pitesti in the Symphony, with energy and joy!

--

460,000 tulip bulbs, from 90 varieties, were planted this year in Pitesti, 200,000 of them beautifying the “Lunca Argeșului” Park, the largest park developed with European funds in Romania. In such a setting, which completed an impressive floral oasis through the variety of colors, through the style and art of arrangement, last weekend, in Pitesti, the Symphony of Tulips was organized, this year’s edition, the 47th, being, at least in the opinion of the author of these lines, perhaps the most successful so far.

It is difficult to describe in words the joy that the show of flowers displayed in the outdoor exhibition in Lunca Argeșului gives you, the gardens arranged by students, the creative and floral design workshops, it is difficult to accurately reproduce the emotion experienced by thousands of children and young people find out on Friday at the traditional parade in the center of the municipality, who proudly chanted the names of their schools or high schools.
We will record, however, for the printer’s memory, a few details. At the official opening ceremony of this event, held in the elegant concert hall of the Pitesti Philharmonic, where the first speech was delivered by Dr. Eng. Ilarie Isac, considered the “father” of the Tulip Symphony, we were honored with the presence of several distinguished ambassadors, of France, Canada and Palestine, as well as many other diplomats from Germany, Holland, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Serbia, Greece, Cyprus, etc. The technical-scientific symposium that followed brought the expertise and passion for flowers to the fore, with the participation of Dr. Eng. Ilarie Isac.

Tens of thousands of people – over 100,000, according to the Town Hall’s estimate – enjoyed the “Symphony”, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, many experienced the music, taking part in the concerts performed by the Pitesti Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, along with special guests , and, respectively, by Irina Rimes and the band “Zdob si Zdub”.
In short, Pitesti was in the symphony – with energy, joy and the most beautiful community spirit – said mayor Cristian Gentea, the conductor, in fact, of this edition of the “Symphony”.
