How much does the Easter meal cost? Online orders in Ploiesti, for complete menus

Easter shopping fever is coming to an end. The star remains the lamb which, this year, ended up costing between 37-55 lei/kg. However, those who don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen or don’t have the talent to cook, can opt for the online ordering option.

Most residents of Ploiești say that, this year, the amount allocated for the Easter meal has increased significantly, as a result of price increases.

The lamb roast, the plate with meat dishes, red eggs, salads, but also the drob, the stew, and the lamb soup are some of the traditional dishes that should not be missing from the Easter table. To these are added the cold appetizers, platters of goodies, but also cakes and pasca.

How much does the traditional Easter meal cost us?

Lamb is by far the star at Easter, and the price has seen an increase of over 20% compared to last year. Thus, a kilogram of lamb meat costs between 37 and 55 lei.

Vegetables and fruits were also expensive. A kilogram of potatoes costs between 3.99 – 4.29, but the price of new potatoes has reached 6.50 – 7.99 lei/kg.

On the other hand, greens prices remained unchanged. The parsley and dill link sells for 1.00 – 1.40.

The price of a casserole with 10 eggs costs between 8.99 and 10.59 lei. Higher prices compared to last year are recorded for dairy products, but also for pastries.

A kilogram of cheese can be purchased with prices ranging from 23 to 37 lei, and milk costs between 4.99 lei and 11 lei/liter.

“Every year we allocated approximately 400-500 lei for the Easter meal. This year I definitely can’t fit in anymore. With 1000 lei, however, you can have a rich Easter meal“, Dumitru, a pensioner, told us that in no year did he buy a whole lamb, but 2-3 kilograms.

However, those who do not want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing traditional products can choose their special Easter menu from online platforms.

In Ploiești, according to the profile websites, a platter of meat delicacies (meatballs, mini-schnitzels and other meat dishes) can cost between 200 – 295 lei, while a full menu, with two dishes (soup +steak), as well as dessert can reach 189 lei. The plate for vegetarians costs 170 lei instead.
