The prefect of Prahova county announced that the filling operations on the 23 August street have been completed. In the next hours, the filling compaction operation will take place.
Moreover, the prefect informs the citizens that any subsidence of this work is normal.
If they observe such phenomena in the respective place, citizens are asked to keep calm.
Evacuees can enter accompanied by security personnel to check their belongings
Pedestrian and car traffic restrictions on the respective section remain in force, including the safety perimeter.
The County Committee for Emergency Situations and the Local Committee for Emergency Situations will put into force in the following period the conclusions of the specialists regarding the adopted measures.
Last week, a street in the town of Slănic, Prahov, collapsed on an area of over 60 square meters. The depth of the crater of two meters led to the evacuation of over 40 locals from the area.
The communique issued by the Prahova Prefect’s Institution
The Prahova Prefect’s institution issued a statement about the works carried out in Slănic:
“The Prefect of Prahova County, Mr. Emil Drăgănescu, informs the citizens of Slănic and the mass media, that the filling operations on 23 August Street have been completed. In the following hours, filling compaction operations will be carried out.
Also, the prefect informs the public opinion, the fact that possible settlements of this work are normal. If they will observe such phenomena in that place (crater surface), citizens are asked to understand that there is no reason to panic, but it is a common aspect in such procedures.
As for the situation of the evacuees, the measure remains in force. However, those persons may enter accompanied by security personnel to check their belongings. Traffic restrictions, both pedestrian and car, are also maintained on the respective section, as well as the safety perimeter.
In the next period, the County Committee for Emergency Situations Prahova and the Local Committee for Emergency Situations Slănic will implement the conclusions of the specialists regarding the adopted measures”, the press release states.
