The Sibiu military academic community regrets the passing of Col. (ret.) Ursu Ioan, former head of Military Music in our institution for 25 years, starting from 1967 until his retirement in 1992.
Member of the Union of Composers from Romania since 1979, Col. (rtr.) Ursu Ioan was an exceptional officer and also a consummate professional. During his career he was involved in the musical and cultural artistic life, participating in the great shows held at the House of Culture of the Trade Unions, the State Philharmonic, the Casa Armatei, the current Military Circle in Sibiu, together with soloists and reciters of the Radu Stanca National Theater .

All those who knew him and wish to pay their last respects to the one who was Col. (rtr.) Ursu Ioan are expected from Thursday morning, April 25, 2024, at the Charitable Funeral Home on Bacovia str., no .3 from Sibiu.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
