More than 1,600 specialists from Distribuţie Energie Electrică Romania entered the Electrician’s Trophy contest, a competition that has become traditional, participating in the branch stage, which took place in all 18 counties in the DEER distribution area.
The 8 specializations within the electricity distribution service, which gather the competitors in the Electrician’s Trophy are:
- Electrician operation of electrical transformer stations 110 kV/MT;
- Electrician operating the electrical distribution network, MV and LV;
- PRAM electrician;
- Electrician measuring electricity, checking measurement groups;
- Electrician, installation and repair of primary equipment in 110 kV/MT electrical substations;
- Electrician installation and repair of MV and LV distribution installations (PA, PT, LEA, LES);
- LES flaw detection electrician of MV and LV;
- Distribution Energy Dispatcher – section included for the first time this year.
In the “Junior” section, 10th grade students from dual education competed in the educational units of Cluj, Brașov, Oradea and Ploiești, the winners being the first 3 young people from each participating area.
Our colleagues took practical and theoretical tests, and 213 of them, those who obtained the best results, passed to the next stage, the company stage, which will take place between May 28 and 30, in Oradea.

The Electrician’s Trophy is an event eagerly awaited by all those involved in this industry, professionals who are dedicated to their work, day in and day out, and who ensure the safety and continuity of the electricity supply to nearly 4 million consumers in the DEER distribution area.
After the final stage on DEER, from Oradea, this year, Distribuție Energie Electrică Romania organizes, in Cluj-Napoca, the national phase of the Electrician’s Trophy, in which the best of the best, representatives of the six energy distribution operators, will participate electrical companies from Romania: Distributie Energie Electrică Romania, Delgaz Grid, Distributie Energie Oltenia, Rețele Electrice Banat, Rețele Electrice Muntenia, Rețele Electrice Dobrogea.
It is an honor for us to host this traditional competition, the city of Cluj-Napoca will become, for one week, between July 7 and 12, the Romanian energy capital, offering the opportunity to the most valuable electricians to demonstrate their professionalism”.
