An important park in the center of Satu Mare, rehabilitated from the ground up. Millions of euros will be invested

The City Council is invited in the meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2024, to approve the draft decision regarding the rehabilitation of Vasile Lucaciu Park. Currently, the Vasile Lucaciu park in the municipality of Satu Mare is in a degraded state, with green areas unsuitable for a modern park, with worn pedestrian running surfaces, without benefiting from major investments in this regard in the last 40 years. At the moment, the alleys in the Lucaciu park are outdated with a worn track. Also, the existing electrical outdoor lighting installations are out of date from a technical point of view, having a high consumption of electricity.

The existing artesian fountain is used physically and morally, unsightly, not meeting the urban planning requirements of the area. In addition to the previously discussed aspects, the artesian fountain, although in working condition, has significant water losses and a high consumption of electricity due to the existing pumps and the non-performing water supply installation with a high consumption of energy.

The total value of the investment amounts to 13,025,662 lei. Financing of the investment objective: non-reimbursable funds and the revenue and expenditure budget of the Municipality of Satu Mare. The duration of the investment is 18 months, of which six months for the design and 12 months for the actual execution of the works.

By making this investment, the modernization and rehabilitation of the park is pursued. To ensure the quality requirements, the following categories of interventions will be carried out:

• Rehabilitation of the existing alleys and the proposal of new alleys made of natural stone paving
• Rehabilitation of the existing monuments in the plinth area of ​​those in a state of degradation
• Changing the existing furniture with a new and modern one
• Restoring the existing supporting walls and finishing them with white plaster
• Restoration and replacement of existing curbs
• Ramps for people with disabilities to allow easy access to the park
• It is proposed to arrange the green space with different species of shrubs and trees, the existing vegetation will be preserved.

• Irrigation system on all green areas arranged in the park
• Surveillance system – video cameras.
• Modernization of public lighting
• It is proposed to abolish the existing fountain, which shows deterioration from a technical and aesthetic point of view, and to replace it with a modern fountain.
