Fieldthe European Gymnastics Championships are held at the end of April, in Rimini (Italy). Among the athletes who will represent Romania are also two gymnasts from Bistrița.

Is about Lilia Cosman (17 years old) – the gymnast who was born in the USA but has been active for almost two years at the Deva Olympic Gymnastics Center.

Lilia Cosman comes to Bistrita to visit her grandparents as often as time permits.

Is very difficult. He has training from Monday to Saturday, with school continued in the US and takes online classes. We talk daily and he still hasn’t complained about wanting to go home. He adjusted to the rhythm here better than we expected…“, the gymnast’s mother told us.

Lilia Cosman was baptized in Bistrita. Including her identity card, it also shows the address of her grandparents in Bistrita. And during the summer holidays, when she visited her grandparents, she used to train at the gym in the park, together with her sister:

PEOPLE from BN – Angi Cosman, national karate champion, now an engineer in Michigan (USA): “I don’t feel at home in the USA, when I come to Bistrita I don’t recognize the places anymore”

Between May 2 and 5, Lilia Cosman will represented Romania at the European Championships in Italy.

The composition of the Romanian team was established based on the selection criteria following the results of the two competitions (Timișoara and Izvorani).

The athlete with the best individual ranking, among those who are not qualified for the Olympic Games, will get the ticket for The Olympic Games from Paris“, transmitted the Romanian Gymnastics Federation.

And Ariana Cotu will compete for Romania at the European Championships in Rimini, in the junior category.

Ariana Cotu a won the gold medal at the Balkan Championships in Istanbul (Turkey), in individual compound, with the Romanian team.

Her mother enrolled her in the Ballet School Ovidiu Danci in 2018. At that time they lived in Maieru, and Ariana also went to school in Maieru. Several times a week they commuted to Bistrita, to the ballet. Coach Laura Boldor encouraged her to turn to gymnastics. At 8 years old, Ariana decided that she wanted to take the tests to be admitted to Deva.
