Carrefour Market in Nojorid, closed by CJPC Bihor. What irregularities were found

--

On 23.04.2024, the County Commissioner for Consumer Protection (CJPC) Bihor carried out a control action at Carrefour Market (Artima SA) in the town of Nojorid. After the checks carried out, it was found that the store was using cold storage rooms for products, which were operating in unsanitary conditions.

“The presence of rodents has been reported in these areas. Also, the entire storage space was unsanitized for a long period of time, with massive deposits of slime, dust, packaging remains, rust, broken boards, ice and snow agglomerations”, the Bihor CJPC representatives said.

Thus, the economic operator was sanctioned with a contravention fine of 18,000 lei and the temporary stop of the sale of products and the provision of services in the entire unit until the deficiencies are remedied (sanitization, disinfection, rodent control).

“CJPC Bihor commissioners will continue the actions to verify compliance with consumer rights and, as we have demonstrated in various cases, regardless of the economic operator, urgent compliance measures will be taken, including complementary contraventional sanctions”, adds CJPC Bihor.
