PNL Satu Mare presented its own opinion poll. PSD contests his result

--

During a press conference organized today, deputy Adrian Cozma – the president of the Satu Mare County Organization of the PNL – presented the results of an opinion poll carried out at his command. According to Adrian Cozma, he would be the only candidate who would have the necessary strength to defeat the UDMR candidate, Pataki Csaba, in the race for the head of the Satu Mare County Council in the elections of June 9, 2024.

“Two polls were done in the last months, polls that gave me the winner. (…) I am convinced that as the poll shows, so will the result on June 10. I will win these elections with the support of the people of Satu Mare in the first place, because I rely on them the most and probably as the electoral campaign becomes clearer and crystallises, more and more will realize that I am the only option for Satu Mare County. (…) The current president of UDMR, Pataki Csaba and I are fighting for the first place, the rest of the candidates are fighting for the vice place. That’s what the PSD is also doing, fighting for the position of deputy”, said Adrian Cozma.

The result of the survey places Adrian Cozma even above the president of the Satu Mare County Council, Pataki Csaba. A result quite difficult to take into account seriously – PSD sources claim. The social democrats claim that the survey questions were asked in a not very fair way, leaving the possibility of falsification of the results.

“To give you an example, when respondents were asked if they were voting for Adrian Cozma, they did so directly. When they asked if they were voting for the PSD candidate, then they started the question with the UDMR candidate. This is correct?! The first question was supposed to directly target the PSD candidate, Mircea Govor, who was the representative of the largest party, if the questions were asked correctly. That is why this poll commissioned by the PNL was not taken into account. A false alliance was invoked at the level of Satu Mare county, with the same logo. The only alliance that exists between the PSD and the PNL is at the national level, for the European parliamentary elections, with the common PSD-PNL logo, not the other way around,” claim social democratic sources.
