Donald Trump compared the administration of President Joe Biden to the secret police of Nazi Germany, remarks made on Saturday at a private event with donors, reports NBC News, according to News.ro.
The former president made the comments while talking about his legal troubles, attacking prosecutors in the cases and lamenting the recent indictments in Arizona of several of his former top aides, along with 11 so-called election fraud from 2020.
“These people are running a Gestapo administration,” Trump said, according to an audio recording of the event. “And it’s the only thing they have. And it is the only way they will win in their opinion”.
“Once I was impeached, I said, ‘Well, now we have to take the gloves off,'” Trump added, calling Biden “the worst president in the history of the country.” “He is extremely incompetent. It’s corrupt as hell. It is the Manchurian candidate”.
The former president added that he is not too bothered by his legal problems.
“If you care too much, you tend to suffocate yourself. And, in a way, I don’t care. But, you know, that’s life,” he said.
He admitted, however, that he was surprised when he was indicted. “Once I was indicted, I said, ‘Holy shit, I just got indicted.’ I. I’ve been impeached,’” Trump said.
He also called Jack Smith, the special counsel handling two federal cases against Trump, a “scoundrel” and “dishonest.”
Trump made the remarks at his Mar-a-Lago club, where hundreds of donors had gathered.
