“Based on the FITOS 2024 national action plan, police officers together with representatives of the Phytosanitary Office Bistrița-Năsăud carried out 10 checks at economic operators in Bistrița and the communes under Section 3 of the Lechința Rural Police.
As a result of the activities carried out, 5 contraventional sanctions were applied with a warning and 8 offenses under the environmental regime and the dangerous substances regime were found”according to IPJ BN.
7.5 liters of herbicide with an expired date of December 2023 were found at the headquarters of an economic agent in Bistrita.
At another store, also in Bistrita, 275 kilograms of chemical fertilizer – nitrogen were discovered, exposed for sale without the company in question being registered for operations with explosive precursors and without observing the conditions for storing chemical fertilizers.
“At the same time, the amount of 6,000 kilograms of chemical fertilizer was discovered at the headquarters of an economic agent in the town of Budești, which was not stored according to the legal norms regarding environmental protection.
Also, from two other authorized natural persons from Budești and Miceștii de Câmpie, the police confiscated quantities of 12,000 and 3,200 kilograms of chemical fertilizers, respectively, which were not stored according to the legal norms regarding environmental protection”says the quoted source.
Such activities will continue in the next period.
