A new factory in Romania. Hundreds of jobs available

The Italian company of household appliances De Longhi opens production in the new factory in Satu Mare, in June 2024. The investments amount to 40 million euros. In Satu-Mare, the factory will have 350 employees, to reach 800 by 2026.

DeLonghi Romania operates as a limited liability company in the Tetarom III industrial park in the Cluj commune of Jucu, notes actualdecluj.ro. The first factory of the Italian group in Romania was opened here. In February 2022, De’Longhi Romania acquired a factory in Satu Mare. The company produces coffee machines.

“There was no active company there. It is a 50,000 square meter industrial building that we are now preparing for production, which will begin in 2023. The production capacity will be dedicated to automatic coffee machines under the De’Longhi brand”, said Carmen Petcu, general manager, in 2022 of De’Longhi Romania, for Ziarul Financiar.

Initially, the company made only espresso machines, but gradually expanded its activity with blenders (vertical mixers) and coffee machines for Nestle.

De’Longhi, a family business with a history of over a century

De’Longhi has made important investments in Romania, in automation, in new equipment and especially in people. In 2018, 15 million euros were directed towards a new expansion of 20,000 sqm. The investment was aimed at increasing the production capacity and bringing in new components, which would increase the degree of integration in Romania, the officials of the Italian company mention.

The business was mainly focused on the production unit, making only a few assortments of semi-automatic coffee machines. Now it produces Braun brand mixers and blenders, but also automatic coffee machines, capsule machines for Nestlé. Annually, De’Longhi produces over four million different machines, exported to all corners of the world: Great Britain, France, Germany or Australia, Japan, USA, South America.
