Baby only 8 hours old with a severe condition, urgently transported from Bistrita to Cluj-Napoca by a SMURD helicopter

A baby only 8 hours old, with a severe condition, was transported, on Wednesday, from Bistriţa to Cluj-Napoca by a SMURD helicopter to be rescued.

“Today, April 3rd, the SMURD helicopter from Târgu Mures was requested to intervene urgently in Bistrita, to support the efforts to save the life of a baby only 8 hours old, who was in critical condition”, he announced on Wednesday evening , General Aviation Inspectorate.

The baby was diagnosed with respiratory distress, and it was necessary to transfer the little one, urgently, to a hospital unit in Cluj-Napoca.

“The helicopter crew proceeded to pick up and transfer the baby to Cluj-Napoca, where he was safely handed over to the medical teams, in order to continue the investigations and administer the necessary treatment,” the source quoted by News.ro said.

According to her, SMURD helicopters and planes regularly carry out neonatal transport missions, during the past month 19 aerial interventions were registered to save babies in critical condition.
