The Prahovean Observatory invites you to participate in an opinion poll on the topic of installing video cameras in schools, without the consent of parents and teachers, as a measure to prevent verbal and physical violence.

The Ministry of Education has put into public debate a draft emergency ordinance that provides for the installation of surveillance cameras in classrooms without the consent of parents and teachers.

The measure was justified by the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, as follows:

“I considered it necessary to amend the legislative framework so that schools can decide to install audio-video surveillance systems to ensure the security and protection of people and property, as well as as a measure to prevent acts of violence that may occur in the school space, without be conditional on the consent of parents or teachers”.

Opinions for and against this project have already appeared in the public space, both from parents and from teachers.
