The Minister of Digitalization, Bogdan Ivan, said in the Digi24.ro Interviews that Romania will have a national program for drones, in which a consortium consisting of several entities will participate. However, he did not specify when this program will be launched.
“It’s a project we’ve discussed informally so far. We have outstanding young people developing drones. We have drones that have an autonomy of 6 hours”, he explained.
“We decided with Messrs. Oprea and Tîlvăr (Minister of Economy and Minister of Defense, no) to make a national drone program in Romania. It has been said a lot that we will produce drones for the military. We aim to see where we are in terms of research and then the Ministry of Economy has programs for production. And, obviously, we can produce not only for Romania, we can export”, he explained.
“We aim to have a national drone program. It is a consortium made up of several entities. It is premature to tell you when the program will be launched,” Ivan said.
