The employees from the Trade Registry in Bucharest and from several cities in the country started a spontaneous protest on Tuesday, for the second day in a row, so that the activity with the public was suspended. Moreover, the institution’s employees have recently organized several protests, complaining about wage inequities and lack of staff, reports News.ro.

“Today, April 30, 2024, members of the Employees’ Union of the National Office of the Trade Register (SAONRC), affiliated to the Publisind Federation and the National Trade Union Bloc, went on spontaneous protest for the second consecutive day”, the National Trade Union Bloc (NBS) announced on Tuesday .

The activity with the public is suspended at the Bucharest Trade Register and in several registers in the country.

“The action is not organized by SAONRC, but the members of the union take part in it”, stated the BNS.

SAONRC organized, on Friday, a protest in front of the Ministry of Justice. “We reject the continued discrimination to which we have been subjected for years. If we are part of the justice family then we must be treated exactly like the other members of the family. The refusal of the Ministry of Justice and the Government of Romania to eliminate wage inequities in the judiciary obliges us to protest until the claims are settled”, the representatives of the union showed then.

They claimed that MJ representatives admitted that it is “an injustice, but there is no energy to solve it”.

“Although the budgetary impact for granting the increase for neuropsychic overload and for the 15% increase in basic salaries, for ONRC, is at least related to the occupational family, still the inequity is maintained, and employees continue to leave the institution. The lack of personnel is not compensated by tenders, but by extra tasks placed behind the employees who nevertheless remain and make ONRC functional”, they added.
