Maintenance money, the bone of contention in a block of flats in Cluj-Napoca: “We pay after a 6-month-old dead puppy”

Life on the block is not easy at all. A woman who lives in Grigorescu claims that she has to pay a monthly maintenance fee for her animal. Everything would be fine if the puppy in question hadn’t passed away more than half a year ago.

“For 14 years we had a small dog, after which we had to pay 7 lei for expenses, and since September, when the block committee changed, the amount of 15 lei.

In September the dog died, so in October we asked the company that took over the administration of the block not to charge us that amount. The first time we were told that we don’t even pay for the puppy….

In November, when we filed a complaint again (verbally), we were told that if we are passed with 2 people, the puppy is not included in the expenses.

In February, when I asked what the amount of 30 lei was under the heading “special amounts”, I received as an answer, that it is for the speaker we use (it is the room between each floor where the garbage was thrown before)

In March, when the expenses were displayed, I noticed that the neighbors who have speakers pay 15 lei. The husband went to the president of the block, and asked why we pay 30 lei. The answer was that we have the bigger speaker…..which is not true!

Then we realized that we still pay 15 lei per puppy.”, the woman explained.

Clujeanca claims that it took two block meetings to reach the conclusion that they are indeed paying 15 lei per month for the deceased quadruped, and their garage has the same dimensions as the other neighbors’. Unfortunately, the problem has not been solved until now, the spouses still having to pay the tax.

“On 19.03.2024 I made a written report on behalf of the husband. Since then there have been two block meetings, one on 26.03.2024 at which the distinguished commission did not appear and the meeting was cancelled, and the second on 10.04.2024 when we were finally given the right… (We pay after a 6-month-old dead puppy, and we don’t have a bigger box than the others…)

We were told verbally that the situation would be resolved…but we received the new “payment note” on which we are still overpaid by the amount of 30 lei (15 lei for the speaker and 15 lei for the dog).

How was the management of a block with 120 apartments taken over when no one knows what the tenants pay?

If a man dies, the next day he is removed from the record…And with a 4 kg puppy our ordeal lasts for 7 months?”the woman complained to the local authorities.
