The route for obtaining a driver’s license in the municipalities of Cluj County is changing. In 2023, only half of those enrolled managed to pass the exam.

The new changes to the place of departure, but also to the route for obtaining the driving license in Cluj, were announced by the representatives of Cluj Prefecture.

Only half of the candidates took the driving test

In 2023, only half of the candidates for the driver’s license passed the driving test, according to the data of the Community Public Service Driving Permits and Vehicle Registration Regime of Cluj county.

In Cluj, last year 20,592 people were examined for the theoretical test, 10,549 were declared admitted, with a passing rate of only 50.44%. And at the practical test, where 19,405 candidates appeared, 9,558 were admitted, the pass percentage being 51.19%, according to the data presented by Cluj Prefecture.

Last year, 33,927 driving licenses were issued in Cluj, of which 23,378 were license changes.

In the Cluj-Napoca municipalityfor the examination in order obtaining a driving licensethe place of departure was changed to provide optimal conditions for the participants and the following route was established:
a. Parking departure/arrival point: Piața OSER – str. Bobâlnei no. 26- Câmpina-str. Plevnei-str. Branului – Aurel Vlaicu str. Traian Vuia – Calea Someșeni- Calea Dezmirului – Bld. Muncii; str. Fabricii-bld. 21 Decembrie 1989 until the intersection with str. Buftea-str. Bucharest – Pța1 Mai- Răsăritului str.- Traian str.- Oașului str.- Câmpina str.- Fabricii de Zahăr str.- Dâmboviței str.- Intre Lacuri str.- Dunării str.- Capitan Grigore Ignat str.- Bărc I str. .
b. Streets from the lower categories will also be used, which ensure the connection between the previously listed streets.
c. Taking into account the traffic restrictions on certain streets within the locality, for vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of more than 3500 kg, the DN C and DN sectors will also be used, the Cluj-Napoca – Apahida bypass and the Cluj- Napoca-Vâlcele.

In the Gherla municipality the examination for the purpose of obtaining a driving license is introduced and will take place on the following routes:
a. Route 1 – departure/arrival point, parking lot: Stadium – Parcului str. – Gelu str. – str. Primaverii – Gârlei str. (parking lots) – Vlahuță str. – Grădinarilor str. – Clujului str. – Băița roundabout – Clujului str. – Hășdății str. – Codrului str. (CF crossing and ramp) – str. In the Câmpia Turzii municipalitythe additional local center of the Community Public Service Driving Permits and Vehicle Registration Regime within the Cluj County Prefect’s Institution was recertified, as follows:
a. The additional local center will operate in the headquarters of the Câmpia-Turzii Municipality Police within the Cluj County Police Inspectorate, in the Câmpia-Turzii municipality, George Coșbuc street, no. 24, Cluj county.
b. Starting from April 2024, the activity at the counter will work:
– Driving licenses: on Tuesdays between 12:30 and 14:30
– Registrations: on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9.30 and 14.30.

In the the municipality of Dejas a result of the efforts made over the last few years and which led including to the amendment of the legislation, the General Direction of Driving Licenses and Registrations granted the approval in order to organize a work point of the Community Public Service Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration Regime in the municipality of Dej, following that, in the shortest possible time, all steps are initiated in order to implement the work point in the municipality of Dej.
