Hundreds of people, mainly children and young people from the municipality of Slatina and Olt county, wanted to mark the Day of the Prefect’s Institution, on April 2, 2024, by learning how the territorial institution of the Romanian Government works, what Prefect Mario De Mezzo does, but especially how Slatina can be seen from the terrace of the building.
Even the representative of the Government in the territory wanted to welcome the visitors who, during three hours, between 13:00 and 16:00, saw the offices of the institution, including the office of Prefect De Mezzo, and on the Open Doors Day the most many were delighted by the panorama of the city, the seat of Olt County, observed from the terrace located on the top floor of the Prefecture, even though a gust of wind was blowing outside. From here you can even see the road bridge over the Olt river, from the entrance to the municipality of Slatina from Craiova.
“It was a very beautiful day, with beautiful people, with young people eager to know the role of the Prefecture. I received many interesting questions, which challenged me to appropriate answers. The Prefect’s institution cannot function without a united team, made up of career professionals. I am the Prefect’s Institution – Olt County and I want to publicly thank them for their professionalism. I also want to assure the citizens of the municipality of Slatina and the county of Olt of full openness and urge them to believe in this institution that is in their interest”, said Mario De Mezzo, the prefect of the county, quoted in a press release posted by Olt Prefecture on the official Facebook page.
According to the quoted source, the event took place in safe conditions, the employees of the Prefecture receiving the support of their colleagues from the County Inspectorate of Gendarmerie Olt, who are guarding the institution of the Romanian Government in the territory.
