The Government of Romania approved today, April 30, 2024, the memorandum regarding the financing of the investment objective “Construction of the “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium, str. Nicolae Dobrin, no. 10, Pitesti municipality, Argeș county”.

The stadium named after the football legend from FC Argeș will have UEFA homologation level 4 and will meet the higher requirements of this standard.

The stadium will have a grass playing field for football, the premises having dimensions of 105 meters x 68 meters, where the guard area of 5 meters around the perimeter is added. The building is divided into four distinct areas: the West Stand, the East Stand, the North Lawn and the South Lawn.

The number of parking spaces is 457, of which: 229 spaces in the basement, 51 spaces on the south lawn, 105 spaces on the east stand and 72 spaces on the surface.

The stadium arena will have a maximum capacity of 15,200 spectators.

Within the future sports complex, the Children’s and Junior Center of FC Argeș will be set up, and the boxing, judo, wrestling and karate sections will also operate.

The stadium in Trivale will be the first stadium in Romania with zero energy consumption, as a result of the installation of photovoltaic panels and state-of-the-art heat pumps.

Among the facilities included in the stadium project are: the facade lighting system with LED technology, a club museum and FC Argeș presentation shop, a strength room, sauna, recovery and multifunctional training rooms, as well as medical offices and of anti-doping.

“What a beautiful coincidence – it’s 60 years since the inauguration of the former “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium! The old demolished stadium, originally called “1 Mai”, then “Municipal”, and, since 2002, “Nicolae Dobrin”, was built in 1964!

Today we achieve a beautiful victory in memory of our genius from Pitesti: the dream of the people of Pitesti to have an ultra-performing stadium is coming true! Dobrin’s name will live on in one of the most modern sports arenas in Romania, and I am proud of marking this success. A success of the whole city!

I thank Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu for his support! He kept his promise: the exceptional investment puts Pitești on a short list of cities in Romania that have such a modern and diversified sports infrastructure!

It is also a great satisfaction that, after 2 years, even the colleagues from the City Council, who did not approve of the project, are today proud of it and promote it intensively!

We are building Dobrin’s Arena! We are building a sports city!” – Cristian Gentea, mayor of Pitesti municipality

“It is the biggest investment that Pitestiul has benefited from since 1990! It is financially supported in a proportion of over 98% by the Romanian state, so we do not have a pressure on the local budget, but only advantages for the city!

It was in a good watch!

On September 30, 2022, we submitted to the National Investment Company the feasibility study and the local council decision regarding the investment objective, then we followed the stages of our project – from obtaining financing, to demolishing the stadium and bringing to UAT some areas of land that we needed them!

I succeeded!” – Lucrețiu Tudor, public administrator of Pitesti municipality

The total value of the investment, through the National Investment Company, amounts to 100 million euros, of which the financing from the local budget is 1.7%.
