Dozens of students from CD Loga, at the hospital with symptoms of poisoning. Classes have been suspended

Dozens of students and teachers from CD Loga National College in Timişoara arrived at the hospital last evening with symptoms specific to intoxication. 16 of them remained hospitalized, while classes were suspended in the educational institution on Wednesday morning.

21 people requested the ambulance during the night.

14 students were hospitalized at the “Louis Ţurcanu” Children’s Hospital and two were at the Emergency Room. Two other students remained hospitalized at the Municipal Hospital. ISU Timiş intervened with a CBRN crew, 1 ASERV and six non-commissioned officers to identify a possible source.

In the educational unit, classes were suspended and during the morning a questionnaire will be completed by all the classes to take stock of those affected, but also to establish the steps taken by the students, where they were and what they ate, drank or bought recently.

“We are on the verge of finalizing the questionnaire sent to children and parents. I don’t know for sure what this symptomatology representsande. What we know is that there are 14 children left out of 15 hospitalized at the Louis Ţurcanu Hospital and two more at the Noi Clinics. 12 teachers also accused problems, but they are not hospitalized, they are at home. We are waiting for the questionnaire data to see how extensive the situation is and then to act. They are students from different classes. We tried to monitor the situation last night. The children are in a stable condition, we will receive more data to identify the cause”, said Aura Danielescu, chief inspector of ISJ Timiş.
