AKTOR has completed the welding of the central opening at the passage over the A 1 Bucharest-Pitesti/Traffic has returned to the A 1 after the deviation on the shoulders

--

Aktor completed the stage of welding the beams at the crossing over the A 1 București-Pitești Highway on lot 3 of the București Sud Highway, and traffic returned to the route of the A 1 highway after the diversion on the side shoulders. Friday, April 26, was the deadline from the IGPR notice for diverting traffic on the belts built at km. 18 in the Ciorogârla area.

“After completion, the passage over the A1 will weigh more than 540 tons and will require 5 tons of protective paint, according to Bogdan Mezei, the project director of the Aktor construction site on L3 A0 Sud. Also, for the construction, more than 10,000 linear meters of welding seam, equivalent to almost the entire length of the beach in M amaia and Navodari together.” – ACTOR

Fitting and welding the six beams took approx. two weeks, but there will still be periods with the diversion of traffic on the shoulder during the stages of work on the shelves, the installation of the parapet beam, the builders said.

The builder Aktor (Greece) has reached 63% execution on lot 3 of the A 0 Bucharest Sud Highway, according to the report that CNAIR published on April 2, 2024. It is a progress of approx. 3% in March, insufficient, however, to guarantee the completion of the 18 kilometers between Bragadiru (DN 6) and the A 1 Bucharest-Pitesti Highway by the assumed deadline, end of August, beginning of September. A progress of between 5 and 7%/month would be needed to complete batch 3. According to official reports, Aktor works with over 400 road workers and 200 machines on lot 3.

The director of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol announced that, so far, the penalties of CNAIR have reached 5 million lei, compared to the value of the contract of approx. 900 million, and the main objective is not to terminate the contracts, but to complete them with the reception of the works: “the builder assumed the completion of the works at the end of August 2024. Indeed, I saw an improvement in the construction site, I refer to personnel and equipment. The beams were also installed over A 1. The mobilization is good, but the lost time must be recovered, which did not happen. I want them to maintain the upward trend and increase the mobilization to meet the deadline, August 2024. I am at 63%. I find it hard to believe that they can complete it, but what they have undertaken they must respect. I can find solutions to improve the situation in the construction site, additional shifts, just to wish. From my point of view, it is possible to drive on this lot until the end of 2024… it is a realistic term if the mobilization will be improved. We have many extension requests from the contractor, but most of them have been rejected. We also applied penalties, totaling approx. 5 million lei and we will not stop. Penalties are not the solution, but for them to mobilize” – Cristian Pistol.

“At the same time, Aktor works on all 11 structures, bridges and overpasses, installs the metal beams and on the CFR crossing, performs the last works for the embankments, lays the layer of BSC. The builder has also started the paving work. More than 500 workers and engineers of all specializations, with approximately 270 equipment and machines such as: excavators, bulldozers, heavy cranes, concrete mixers, column drilling machines for foundation work, and trucks, work non-stop there in the flat landscape of southwest of Bucharest, on an 18 km long strip of dirt and gravel, so that you can drive in autumn on a highway that will bypass the suffocating traffic in the Capital.

At the moment, the Greek manufacturer maintains its September 2024 delivery date.” the Greek builder said.
