The Minister of the Environment, visit to the IRUM factory in Reghin – News from Mures, News Targu Mures

--

The visit of the Minister of the Environment, Waters and Forests Mircea Fechet to Mureș county also included a stop at the IRUM factory in Reghin, the only tractor manufacturer in Romania.

“I am glad to discover here, at IRUM, a business model with 100% Romanian capital, which makes highly efficient products. What impresses me the most is that 70% of the ferrous material used in production comes from recycling. Today we discussed the new Rabla program for agricultural machinery and learned important information regarding the structure and needs of the market. From what I understand, for almost 10 years, IRUM has had its own photovoltaic park, the 5700 panels can be used throughout the year, even in winter. This means that IRUM is not only an important supplier for the forestry industry, but also an example for companies that want to integrate the principles of the circular economy into their own business model,” said Minister Mircea Fechet.

Founded in 1953, IRUM is a company specialized in the construction of machines and equipment. Initially operating as a state company, IRUM became a company with completely private capital in 1999, dedicating itself mainly to the forestry industry.

Since 1969, the company from Reghin started to produce forestry tractors, and since 2010 it has produced (under Belarusian license) tractors (especially articulated forestry tractors – TAF) and agricultural and forestry machinery.

IRUM is the manufacturer of the only Romanian Agricultural Tractor (TAGRO), reviving this industry after 10 years of inactivity in Romania. IRUM has over 500 employees, success being defined with the help of their experience, skill and work.
