On Sunday, April 7, starting at 19:00, you are invited to the “Oleg Danovski” National Opera and Ballet Theatre, to “The Marriage of Figaro”, an opera whose music was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, based on a libretto written in Italian language by Lorenzo da Ponte. The absolute premiere of the opera took place over 200 years ago, in Vienna. Critics argue that it is an opera full of contrasts, with melodious arias, which in turn evolve from a quiet song into a fulminant sound explosion. In this setting, Count Almaviva, married to Rosina, but bored with her, tries to win Susanna, Figaro’s fiancee. The count tries to prevent the wedding of the two, helped by Marcellina, Dr. Bartolo’s housekeeper. Marcellina tries to force Figaro to marry her, on account of a debt that he could not repay. Figaro, for his part, tries to prevent this plan and take Susanna as his wife. Marcellina’s plan falls apart when Figaro accidentally learns that Marcellina is actually his long-lost mother. After many tricks and adventures, Figaro and Susanna regain trust and love, and Count Almaviva is forced to ask Rosina to forgive him. The artistic direction is signed by Ştefan Neagrău, and

scenography by Eugenia Tărăşescu-Jianu. The following soloists will take the stage: Elena Rotari, Marius Eftimie, Daniel Pop, Silvia Simionescu, Mihai Teodoru, Mădălin Băldău, Gabriela Dobre, Magda Marcu, Noemi Onucu, Marius Turtoi, Adrian Pîrlea, Mircea Găvan. The musical direction belongs to Cătălin Țoropoc, and the choirmaster is Adrian Stanache. Alongside them will be the orchestra and choir of the “Oleg Danovski” National Theater of Opera and Ballet
