A man was detained by the police in Olt for 24 hours after killing his wife. Investigators determined that he first hit the woman in the head with a stick and then stabbed her.
The representatives of the Olt County Police Inspectorate announced that the police were alerted on Sunday evening, regarding the fact that a man allegedly stabbed his wife in a house in the Teslui commune, and she is unconscious.
“From the first checks, the police established the fact that, on the evening of March 31, 2024, a 68-year-old man, against the background of alcohol consumption and an intra-family conflict, would have hit his wife several times with a piece of wood in the head area and allegedly stabbed her with a sharp-cutting object in the thoraco-pectoral area. Following the event, the woman died, and her body was transported to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital, in order to carry out the necropsy, to establish the exact cause of death”, said the police, quoted by News.ro.
The man was detained for 24 hours for murder. He is to be presented to the Olt Court, to take a preventive measure.
