In 2011, Mihai Nesu (41 years old) suffered a terrible accident at a training session of his Utrecht, after which he was immobilized in a wheelchair. Even though his life has changed radically, the “Bichon” is a model of inspiration and modesty.

In the last decade, the former defender from FCSB (no- Steaua at the time) went through a lot of hardships. In addition to the unfortunate accident, his parents passed away and it was said that his ex-wife “ran away”but Neșu overcame every drama with his head held high and he dedicated his life for helping children with disabilities.

On February 19, 2012, 9 months after the terrible accident that left him paralyzed, Mihai Neşu appeared for the first time at an event without his wife, Maria, by his side. Later, the two divorced and there were rumors that the ex-footballer’s partner did not want to stay with him, in the state he was in.

More than 12 years apart, Neșu cleared things up and revealed that, in fact, he made the decision to divorce.

In fact, the reality is that I decided to divorce her in case of illness. It was my decision. People blamed her a lot because people can’t understand. (…) I realized that it was a very big shock for her as well.

(…) They never liked to appear on TV and most things were exaggerated. He was with me at the hospital as well. I want the world to know that it did not happen as written”, said Mihai Neșu, according to antenastars.ro.

In recent years, Mihai Neșu initiated a project for helping children and young people with neuromotor disabilities, and the former FCSB player has big plans for it.

However, the costs of erecting the St. Nectarie Complex in Oradea are quite high, both for the completion of the construction and fitting out of the center, as well as the playgrounds, the accommodation for the parents of the children, the farm, the solariums, the gardens, the social restaurant and the hydrotherapy pool.
